Erin Ellington began doing makeup on fellow fitness models as soon as she began modeling in her mid-twenties. Photographers found her makeup work on the other models' faces to be quick, accurate, and appropriate for outdoor and studio lighting. They also enjoyed having a professional model to inspire other models in the industry with her positive work ethic and enthusiasm. "It was not unusual for me to be hired for make-up on models in the morning, and then be hired to model for a photo shoot at sunset on the beach. I thrived on being involved with everything going on behind the scenes with the photographers, make-up, locations, wardrobe, and providing feedback when selecting photos of the models for publishers." Ellington continued modeling for the next 15 years and studied with top-notch makeup artists in order to educate herself as to what makes a person's skin and face come alive. "I believe taking care of your skin is just as important as taking care of your heart, your lungs, your brain, or your emotional health for that matter."
Fashion photographer Halstan Williams, who first approached Ellington to pose for print work, recently encouraged her to pursue a full time career in makeup artistry after she decided to step away from years of modeling. He witnessed Ellington's passion for working
on the faces of others and he soon began inviting her along to do makeup on his subjects throughout the United States. (Halstan has won awards at the International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) in the Child Model of the Year, Model of the Year, and Actress of the Year categories). The feedback from agencies and clients on Erin's work has been exceptional, and she is now a freelance makeup artist: working on the faces of up and coming fashion models, actors, and actresses who are signing lucrative contracts with modeling and talent agencies throughout the U.S. and International markets.
